Canadian PLC job market
This page counts the listings currently on PLC Jobs.ca — every one of them found on the employer's own careers page and checked before appearing here. It is a snapshot of this board on 2026-11-05, not a survey of the whole Canadian economy: it shows what employers are actively hiring for in PLC, controls and automation work right now, and it changes as listings are added and removed. The pay figures behind the transparency section are broken down in the Canadian PLC salary guide.

Roles by kind of work
These groups follow the board's role browse pages. Each page gathers the listings whose title or board summary mentions the term, so one listing can appear in more than one group and the groups do not add up to the board total. Instrumentation work sits inside the controls view — 30 of its current listings carry the word in the title itself.

Where the jobs are
The largest single clusters are Mississauga, ON (20 listings), Toronto, ON (14), Calgary, AB (13), Guelph, ON (11) and Montréal, QC (8). Ontario's share reflects its manufacturing belt and its nuclear and engineering employers; Alberta's reflects energy and process work around Calgary and Edmonton.
Pay transparency
Of the 193 current listings, 86 (45%) state pay in the employer's own posting: 50 give annual salaries, with stated ranges running from $50,000 to $179,016; 23 give hourly wages, from $22 to $80.48; and 13 state a range without saying whether it is hourly or annual. The other 107 listings publish no pay at all, and this board never fills the gap with estimates. The full breakdown — by province, by kind of work, and listing by listing — is in the Canadian PLC salary guide.

Platforms named in current listings
Counted from the board's own listing summaries; a listing that names two platforms counts under both. Siemens is named in 65 current listings, Allen-Bradley in 53, Rockwell in 45, ABB in 27, Schneider in 25 and Ignition in 17. The two biggest ecosystems are compared in Allen-Bradley or Siemens?
How these figures were compiled
Methodology: every figure on this page was counted on 2026-11-05 from the listings live on PLC Jobs.ca at that moment. Each listing was found on the employer's own careers page and checked before appearing here. Pay is counted only where the employer's own posting states it, exactly as stated — nothing is averaged, converted between hourly and annual, or supplemented from outside sources. Because the board changes daily, treat this page as a snapshot; the live listings behind these numbers are on the jobs page.
